The responsibility of the Estimator is to first and foremost put accurate cost estimates together for work to be procured including availability of materials, manpower and equipment as well as defining the order of operations that a project will take to complete in the most effective and efficient manner. Other responsibilities of the Estimator include, but are not limited to:

• Finding and vetting vendors of materials and services

• Negotiating pricing of materials and services

• Material quantity takeoffs

• Preparing bids

• Meeting with the PM and FOM to discuss means and methods for projects

3 - 5 Year Experience Preferred

The responsibility of the Project Manager (PM) is to first and foremost manage a projects scope, schedule, and budget to make sure that the projects goals are being met and that each project remains profitable. Laying out look ahead schedules for the field crews and relaying critical project information (i.e. scope changes, schedule changes, etc.) to the FOM so that the appropriate corrections can be made. Other responsibilities of the PM include, but may not be limited to:

• Meeting with the FOM on a weekly basis to discuss project information for ongoing and upcoming projects.

• Disseminating project information to the project team at the start of the project and as project changes occur.

• Reviewing project financials with the FOM to make sure projects are staying within budget.

• Reviewing project reports given by the FOM to make sure the project is progressing as it should. Corrections to be passed down through the FOM for any course corrections.

• Reviewing material and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and coding.

• Project meetings with clients as needed.

• Quality Control of installed items

• Timesheet approval and coding

• Sending Notice to Owner for each project

• Required reporting

  • Project Cost vs. Actuals (Profitability)

  • Project Schedule Base vs. Actual

The responsibility of the Office Manager (OM) is to first and foremost handle the daily accounting of the company’s affairs. This includes but is not limited to:

•  Inputting project financials

• Processing employee payroll

• Processing accounts receivables

• Processing accounts payables in a timely manner

• Handling lien release requests

• Insurance Certificate management

• Renewing vehicle and equipment registrations

The responsibility of the Superintendent is to first and foremost manage the day to day operations of utility crew productivity. Making sure materials and equipment needed for that day have been delivered and ready for use. Scheduling daily activities along with means and methods for accomplishing daily activities in the most productive manner. Other responsibilities of the Superintendent include, but may not be limited to:

•  Making sure crew reports to work on time. 7am starting at the latest

• Morning meetings with crews to outline the days activities and goals

• Ensuring equipment on site is greased, maintained, and clean ready for use

• Scheduling layout for scopes as needed. (ie. utility staking)

• Scheduling testing for scopes as needed (ie. pipe densities, pressure tests, chlorination, TV, etc.)

• Scheduling 811 Call before you dig is in place prior to any excavations

• Scheduling materials for use ahead of when they are needed

• Scheduling equipment for use (Owned and Rented). Coordinate with FOM on equipment allocation

• Quality Control of installed items
